These are true and, sadly enough, not known to the hundreds of thousands of desis who are smitten by the charm that is projected of Canada.

Canada is NOT for the faint of heart and believe me the more immigrants come in the more problems we will face specially that of unemployment because the unemployed skilled immigrants will keep on multiplying and this situation will reach scary some day.

We need to flag this to as many people as we can.

Top Eight Reasons NOT to immigrate to Canada
http://www.caribbeanmedicine.com/top8reasons.htm

Time pass article. Written by a hypocrite. He says there is shortage of doctors in Canada. Why the hell he left after getting free education?

Some of the facts are twisted.

Yes, you have the GST, the PST, totaling 15%,
>>>>Not in all provinces there is PST

It is estimated that compared to most countries around the world, the cost of living in Canada is on average five times greater.
>>>>From where this guy gets his information? Does he know about Japan?

Desi in Ottawa,

Believe me I am so scared after reading that article I feel that I made a mistake taking all that time, energy, efforts and MONEY.

BUT

I hate reading such messages that suggest that Canada is a bad choice. From what I have seen in your post you don't seem to agree, can you please shed some light or put across more elaboration???

I would really appreciate it if you could call me or please let me have your number, I can call you. I really need to talk to people who are there so I know how is life like.

Thanks,

8. Discriminatory and Dishonest Immigration System.
Immigration to Canada is based on a point system, obtained with your education, qualifications and job experience. Points are good enough for immigration, but in Canada, they are not good enough to get a job in your field. Amazing, how the credentials that qualify you to come to Canada are the same credentials that don't qualify you for your profession in Canada. The reason is, Canada only wants immigrants to do the labor jobs - pizza delivery, driving taxis, factory work etc.

Solution: Immigration department holds each persons hand, and takes them to find jobs. If private employers refuse to hire an immigrant they should be lined up and shot – or perhaps a less drastic alternative, just institute 50% reservations for immigrants in all public and private sector jobs. That way desis will feel at home!

7. Out Of Control Cost Of Living.
From rent, to utility bills, to shopping, to phone, internet and cable bills, to gas, to car insurance, to eating out, to basically anything you have to pay for or buy, the cost of living in Canada has become astronomical. Recent immigrants are astonished as to how expensive everything is. It is estimated that compared to most countries around the world, the cost of living in Canada is on average five times greater.

On average 5 times greater………I wonder what the source of this information is. According to a survey performed by KPMG in 2004, Canada was the least costly place to do business (from among the G8).

http://www.kpmg.ca/en/news/pr20040218.html

……maybe ‘Dr Asad’ knows more about economics than the surveyors at KPMG….after all he is one of those supremely talented immigrants, isn’t it?

6. Health Care Disaster.
Practicing physicians in Canada are in a shortage, 1 in 4 Canadians cannot get a family doctor. Canadian doctors are leaving to move permanently to the United States. Statistics Canada and the Canadian Medical Association both have identified that for every 1 American doctor that moves to Canada, 19 (nineteen) Canadian doctors move to the United States! Doctors in Canada are overworked and underpaid, and there is a cap on their salaries.

Check out the use of the word ‘disaster’. Are Canadians falling dead left, right and centre?!!!

5. Very High Taxes.
Yes, you have the GST, the PST, totaling 15%, on practically everything you purchase and many other taxes taken out of our weekly paycheck. You have to pay a whopping amount to the government, out of your hard earned salary, so that the government can turn around and give it to beer drinking, hockey watching welfare bums. Fair? It does not matter, it's Canada.

Taxes are comparable with other jurisdictions, including much of Europe and Australia and NZ. Have a look at the following link………

http://www.worldwide-tax.com/index.asp#partthree

While the table on the attached link only has the federal tax rates, adding in the provincial rates, results in taxes being comparable to most other jurisdictions.

Some comparisons – the GST in Canada is 7%, while VAT in the UK is 17.5%, NZ = 12.5%, Ireland 21%, Italy 25%.

4. Money Hungry Government.
Canadian Embassies around the world lie to foreigners, painting this picture that Canada is Utopia, because they want foreigners to come to Canada. Why? Because foreigners bring money! So after being deceived, these foreigners come. They must bring with them at least $10,000. Canada has an immigration quota of 250,000 per year. So please do the math, 250,000 multiplied by $10,000 each equals a whopping 2.5 Billion dollars that Canada gains from immigrants every year.

Logic is flawed.

Does each ‘immigrant’ bring in $10,000? That would mean that a family of 4 would have to bring in $40,000 as settlement funds – which is not the case. Besides, parents – about 20,000 of whom immigrate every year – do not have the $10k requirement, neither do spouses.

Even if we were to assume that the $2.5b figure was correct, it can hardly be described as ‘whopping’ in an economy of Canada’s size (less than 0.3% of the GDP of over 1 trillion dollars)

3. No Culture.
Unlike almost every other country in the world, Canada has no culture. Actually American culture is what dominates Canada. When was the last time you had some 'Canadian' food? There are no Canadian traditions and there is no national identity. What does it even mean to call yourself a 'Canadian'. . .nothing really. People living in Canada, still identify themselves as to where they 'originally' came from.

I’m sure ‘Dr Asad’ comes from a ‘superior culture’……pass on further comments….

2. Worst Weather.
Yes, Canada has the worst weather conditions of any country in the world. Freezing cold temperatures, snow, ice, hail, winds, storms etc From the Prairie provinces to the Maritimes, from the Territories to southern Ontario, the weather is so horrific and disgusting that many Canadians leave Canada simply because of this reason alone.

’Worst weather conditions of any country in the world’ – apparently Dr Asad hasn’t heard of Siberia……..

1. No Jobs.
Yes, coast to coast, there are no jobs. Immigrants are highly qualified (MD's, PhD's, Lawyers, Engineers etc.) but they are driving taxi cabs, delivering pizza's or working in factories. Even people with bachelors degrees from Canadian Universities cannot find jobs after graduation. This is the tragedy associated with immigration to Canada. I feel sorry for those immigrants who are stuck in Canada for the rest of their lives. It is indeed a very sad and hopeless future.

No jobs? Indeed the entire economy generates more than $1 trillion a year in good wishes………

A sad and hopeless future indeed ………..for Dr Asad and his ilk.

Hi Crenshaw,

How are you?

Instead of above comment, you have to post "Top eight reason to everybody in the world to migrate Canada" :D

Do you have any statistics about how many engineers are working as taxi drivers or factory labours in Canada?

Even most of desi CGA here are reconciling the accounts (in India this job is for simple accountant clerk)

Fact is fact, you can not change it.:(

Have a good day!
