MS Outlook will be too much for any Mobile Device to handle.
Your company email administrators needs to know/provide with whatever you want to do on mobile device.
Easiest thing to provide is OWA. There is POP3/SMTP and ActiveSync is also available with Microsoft Exchange 2003. iPhone did announce support for ActiveSync in March 2008. I haven't tried myself. But again, it needs to be provided by your Exchange Server before anything else.

Are you there?
Hey guys,
Its amazing!!..The black beauty has just arrived and the great news for me, my email is working. In fact, while setting up, I had to sync it with itunes and it asked me to sync the outlook contacts, calendar, emails etc.. So I clicked yes and than started the iphone. It gave me error, so I called up Netfirms and they told me the details to be entered (smtp etc..). I did that and started sending and receiving from my domained email address.
I am going to play with this machine for a while now and know everything about it, to optimize the invention.
Thanks again,
regards,
VJ.
good stuff, though i dont think the sync is complete (.eg deleting mails).
Out of curiosity if you delete mail on iphone inbox or other folder does it update on your pc?
I'm trying to figure if netfirms now supports imap.
anywayz...another one for this thread for those looking for imap with iphones

note: imap is slower than pop since the app has to sync with email server.
congrats on the new toy.

Hi JRF, Jake3d,
Its been excellent so far. The email utility is working just great. its fast too. I haven't tried the other thing (IMAP) as I am not too technical about it. But overall this POP thing is faster for me.
The only unusual thing, I have noticed that, emails to yahoo address is not going. I sent a test message to my wife's yahoo address from my iphone (using the netfirms email address), and its not delivered at all.
Can you throw some light on this?
Is there any other application you know to be installed for making my iphone a bit more optimized.
By the way, in middle of the excitement of setting up iphone, I clicked a wrong button, while storing some data from my laptop to my 160 GB ipod and I LOST MY TOTAL MUSIC BALANCE. 4000 songs.
Anyways,
Regards,
VJ.
You could try again, I send emails frequently to yahoo account. Also ask your wife to check the "SPAM" folder in her yahoo account, your mail might have got transferred there..
