Microsoft has launched the business versions of it's latest core products.
The New Windows Vista operating system promises to be more secure and easier to use.
Business versions of office 2007 and Microsoft's e-mail platform --- exchange server 2007 --- were also rolled out today.
I've been using Vista RTM for almost a month now. It definitely is 'sleek', but it really needs good speed and memory - this time dont forget video memory. Gamers & would love it!
Exchange 2007 is all together new world !!!
Anyone here have used Vista ???

I have. Love the graphics, its awesome (The 3d flip using the windows key _ TAB is the best I've seen so far).
Its also a resource hog.
Having major trouble installing SQL SERVER 2005 on it. Also VS 2005. Office 2007 runs fine so far.
Its being touted as the most tested MS OS to date. And I don't doubt that it is. I'm just concerned that they're looking for early adopters but having glitches like SQL Server 2000 not being supported, while SQL SERVER 2005 SP2 BETA acting up on installs.
Ambitious!

Are you there?
A lot of people have been asking whether it's worth buying a new OS just to get fancy graphics....the Avalon API.
A year down the road when all systems have built in GPUs capable of processing then I would pick up a system.
MS touts their new system as being the most secure; I think any person running XP who has up to date anti virus and firewalls is doing ok already.
It will be a good system. Will be as revolutionary as Win95 or Win2K? I don't think so...my 2 cents.
Cheers.

I dont this it is yet time to Run for Vista, if you already have XP and satisfied with it.
With Vista comes some new features - it makes troubleshooting little easier for novice users. It has "Best Practice Analyzer" - which gives you good understanding on what could be wrong with the machine in "end user - plain english".
Ofcourse Graphics is fantastic. MS had to do it with so much happening in "Gamer's World" (Remeber gamers lined up outside Future shop for more than 48 hours to get first hand on PS3 - crazy stuff).
