MS Outlook will be too much for any Mobile Device to handle.

Your company email administrators needs to know/provide with whatever you want to do on mobile device.

Easiest thing to provide is OWA. There is POP3/SMTP and ActiveSync is also available with Microsoft Exchange 2003. iPhone did announce support for ActiveSync in March 2008. I haven't tried myself. But again, it needs to be provided by your Exchange Server before anything else.

Thanks Maharaj,

I don't work for any organization. I am a self employed person and recently registered a domain name, which gave me an email address too. So if I wish to get all the emails while I am mobile from that email address, which application can support on iphone?

By the way, for me Iphone is going to be a very small capacity for my music and I already am enjoying 160 GB from my ipod. Bank balance main I am not a millionaire but music main, I have a huge balance. 90 GB is already occupied.
Regards,

VJ.

you can use your pop settings or better use the IMAP service if your host allows the same. The iphone 'mail' option seems to be able to handle it all. Unlike POP, IMAP will automatically sync email from all devices(multiple pc pc, iphone etc). So your IMAP account in outlook(pc) will show the same email as your IMAP 'mail' iphone account. The only drawback is that if your host has a space limitation it could be a problem since the mails are stored on the server.

Too Good!!!

Thanks a lot Jake3D,

I would follow the steps. In fact today, I would talk to my host (Netfirms, do you have idea, if they allow this?).

UPS has already taken from the FIDO warehouse and it should be with me any day now...Can't wait any more!!

Rgds,

VJ.

Ugh!Netfirms! More like NetJoke!.

As far as i remember, they do not. I moved clients away from them because I had so many problems with them...but then the sites were cms systems...not the average html static site.

However, for basic sites and hosting you should not have many problems. I do not think they have IMAP mail servers though. Things may have changed in the last 6 months, so call to find out.

You can look into gmail for businesses(6gb/account free...upto 100 accounts/business account). Google allows you to use your domain name instead of xxx @ GMAIL dot com. You will need to configure and setup though(so the netfirms account points to google for mail). You will then be able to use the google account with outlook, iphone etc. Send and receive mail from any device and the mail folders will automatically be synced in the other devices too.

1and1 supports IMAP I think. Dont know for sure. You could also buy just an email account that supports IMAP servers from them and configure your netfirms settings to point to the new account for email.

Have been setting up gmail for most clients(businesses) and they are happy with it. Cant go wrong with a 6gb free account can you?
:D
