From where to buy iphone to take to India

I wanna take iphone to India.I was checking online...I only saw locked phone with carriers.Can anyone guide me where to get unlocked one?

I suggest buy new one from the apple store.

Ask the apple store for the unlocked iphone that can work throughout the world. Also, iPhone needs to be activated before you can use it, so ask the Apple employees to activate it also to avoid any issues in future.

After you bought the iPhone test it with with various SIM here like Fido, Rogers, Bell, and Telus etc put each SIM one atleast twice as after switching to other SIM. Then, access some data application (also visit apple website) through 3G with every carrier SIM each time. This is to make sure that iPHone does not lock to any particular carrier.

If you buy and old Iphone, even if it is unlocked when you buy, It can get locked to original carrier in future, if ever updated or not used properly.
