Well, if there are thousands of articles on net against Modi, there are quite a few detailed and investigative articles in his favor exonerating him from the blame. Only a prejudiced person with blinkers on eyes can blame Modi for whatever happened. The fact remains that Indian people have no faith in servile judiciary. Further , Judiciary's record does not inspire any confidence in delivering timely justice. Killing of women and children in cold blood at Godhra was a final straw and anger spill over was spontaneous. It was sad because price was paid by innocent Muslims and Hindus. Have you ever questioned yourself that why would a mature and seasoned politician like Modi occupying CM post will risk his postion and his future by instigating a mob? I think he was also caught by surprise but still managed to control riots within 3 days. It is now well known fact that he had sought Army and police help from neighbouring states within a few hours but was denied/delayed. I was in Canada but I did talk to couple of my friends and they told me that mobs were so large, even police could not have controlled mpbs without killing hundreds and still perhaps not being successful and hence they did whatever they could without aggrevating situation.
Most unfortunate part was killing of innocent and mainly poor people. But then is it not typical of riots in India? To call it Genocide is mockery. Genocide is what is happening in Sudan and whatever happened in Kashmir which has cleansed itself of Hindu. Same is case with Pakistan where Hindu population post partion has been reduced fron 22% to 2%. Of course, you will perhaps argue that most convrted from Hinduism to religion of peace. Same story goes for Bangladesh and currently going on in Indoneasia.

It is so unfortunate for India that we had a bastard PM in Nehru at our freedom who was extremely prejudiced and Hindu. He censored true history of India and its struggle and joker imposed leftist view of history and adopted USSR model of developments (must have been bribed by USSR by sending couple of Russian beauties).
My one of the best friend in Canada is a Pakistani Muslim guy. We had discussed riots a nd I had sent him email containing link to many articles on net which shed some light on what actually happened and not conjured by Teesta.
By the way he has a fantastic account of what happened to THEM. His father migrated from Hyderabad in AP to Pakistan and before he died, he admitted his "crime" of migrating. He told me how Muslims from India in Pakistan are labelled as "Mohajir" and discriminated. He has many times expressed his shock that how Indians are not aware of this kind of discrimation. The fact is we read only what we want to believe and suits our preconceived notions. You seem to be like a Chinese girl working with me. She was abusing Dalai Lama and called him a criminal. She was active participant against Dalai Lama when he visited Toronto. I could not understand her prejudice as she is otherwise a vey bright and sensible girl till I saw a news documentary on CBC where they showed how Chinese people are taught history depicting Dalai lama as a criminal! Next day I told her about documentary and also advised her to make a good research but she never did. We all want to live by our prejudice.
In the end, I would like to emphasize that I am not trying to condone or approve of post Godhra riots. That was most unfortunate. What I rue most that we never learn lesson. Still nothing has changed in Judicial system or police or politics which will inspire any sense of confidence or comfort that no such other incident will happen ever again. As my Pakistani friend says and which I completely agree that it is typical of Asians, Arabs and Afro Americans to live life by tribal standards and always will keep fighting amongst themselves and ruining lives. We both thank God that we are amongst people who are not as vengful.
Well, we are all in Canada and not in India hence I hope we stop this Hate Modi posts If you are so concerned about Muslim and their welfare start a new thread on Bush whose action has resulted in real Genocide of muslims world over
