Well the motto is .... You never know ... so be good .
I think it was being good on the person's part , rather then networking which got him a job ............ The middle aged man was taken in by his helping nature and would not have cared a hoot had our security person simply tried to 'network' .

Fido.
Hello all,
After reading all posts in this forum, I kind of had this question in mind.
The guy worked in security job should have made atleast 2500 to 3000 CAD a month and when he moved to this tech job he might make a 1000 more I guess as a starter. Assuming these figures are right, all of the guys (NO OFFENSE PLS) are so disgusted with the blue collar jobs because of what ?
a. Indian stereotyping of jobs and an illusioned dignity that indians stick with every job
b. Some blue collar jobs may be hardwork invovled. (But tell you what most of them are not!)
C. Social status: saying to our indian clan in canada and back in home that I make 4000 bucks as a analyst in so & so fortune 50 company when it is the same financially as working as a manager in departmental stores on commission basis to manage the store!
D. Any other reason
E. All of the above.
Please let me have some inputs as Im a starter up here in canada and want to know from PROS. I didnt mean to offend anyone and any response with info is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

My take? Jump into any field, irrespective of social status, where you could make more money. That's the motto of North America. You see the big houses? Most of them owned by Cab, Truck drivers, Trade professionals (2 years course from any community college or polytechnic) from India (with all due respect to their profession). So, move where you could earn handsomely. Don't worry about being an Engineer, Doctors, Analyst.... etc. when you could earn more by working in a store based on commissions and by driving Cabs/Trucks. Money is supreme.
That's my motto. Whatever North America stands for - it's biggest plus is dignity of labour.
Looks like a made up story. Urban Myth.
