Anybody out there pursuing CGA???? Just wanted to have tips for getting the degree evaluated. I also have few queries which i hope a cga student can clear.

Did you receive your PR ?..what made you choose CGA over CA?...want to know since I would also like to pursue one of them in near future..thanks in advance..

I feel I can do CGA. reason for writing here is only to have better idea about the credits. CA seems more tough and time consuming and studying CA while raising kids does not seem easy.

I am here on PR.

Hi BB, I am currently doing CGA. Their website gives all the info related to credit transfers (for Canadian univ courses at least). If you have ur education from India/elsewhere, you would have to send your transcript for evaluation. There is a couple of hundred fees involved for this.

Based on information session I attended, I think you have enough money, time and patience to spare. Also, based on money you invest, how quickly are you able to recover that money? They said that the starting salary for CGA is per annum. Also, depending upon your age, how wise it would be to make this kind of commitment?

Do you mean to say studying accounting is costly and still doesnt pay back?

But accounting jobs are one of the highly paid jobs in canada and usa right? probably the starting years it might be low but as you go (may be after 3 or 4 yrs) it pays you good?
