Hi,
I'm a CA from India.Can anyone pls advise, which is better course to pursue- CPA or CIA?
I intend to pursue one of the courses so that I may have a better chance of success in Canada, but can't decide which one to select.Thanks

Foe next few years... CIA is better. Lot of opportunities for internal auditors with good money

Thanks for the reply.

Anyone out there in auditing who can share his jobhunt and pay experience?

I guess withh limited resouces, I can only spend on one of those two certifications and go for the one which has the max career scope.

Are Indian CAs with CIA accepted or employers want CPA with CIA?

Pls reply CDs.

I am also a CA frm India and CPA frm USA..we hv recently applied for PR...wats ur status..hv been searching jobs in canada on the basis of my degrees but havenot been successful until now...i am thinking of pursuing Canadian degree and hv been doing some research ...kindly let me knw your sources and plan of action in finding a job in Canada...my email

CPA is better if you would like pursue career in Finance/ Accounts area, but CIA is good if you are planning to work in Internal Audit/Compliance. I would advice you to brush up your skills in IFRS and SOX.

SOX is a dead (almost). it is maintenance now.

My view...

CPA is a US qualification and carries a little weight here in Canada... If you want to make full use of CPA you got to be working in States...

CPA however is better known to public and industry here compared to CIA, and has wider scope (accounting, tax, controllership)... CIA on the other hand has a selective application.. however if you get a good break, you will not regret having pursued CIA as well...
