Operation Bluestar happened 25 years ago and there was some ceremony in Vancouver to protest it.

What do you guys think -

1. Operation Bluestar - Well handled & correct decision by the Indian government.
2. Operation Bluestar - Very bad & totally unacceptable decision.
3. Operation Bluestar - Government had no option and need to take this operation.
4. Operation Bluestar - Government should leave gunmen (terrorist) in the temple and leave them alone.
5. Operation Bluestar - What other options you will suggest.

This question comes to my mind as I was watching Omni TV Punjabi news (in Vancouver) and they have covered it for continuous 35 minutes (first news and no other news for first 35 minutes).

Actually this was not a Sikh created problem.

This was a total creation of Mrs.Indira Gandhi.

This is the reason why the Nehru Clan is hated by most Hindus from India.

They have always used the concept of divide and rule.

They will not care about setting brothers against brothers when they will achieve something personally.

She wanted to split the Punjabi vote and she created this Khalistan guys. Once they became a problem for her she got rid of them and they ended up killing her.

She created the Tamil Eezham problem and supported the guys like Prabhakran, Nedumaran and others. She wanted to keep Srilanka undercheck and she created this armed insurgency group and they came back to kill her son. Her daughter-in-law settled scores with the guys who killed her husband.

If you closely analyse all the problems of India without any emotion and bias you'll find Nehru/Indira Gandhi hand in it.

The Congress(I) was saved by P.V.Narasimha Rao ably assisted by Manmohan Singh and P.Chidambaram in 1993 to open up and become self reliant.

Why India has not solved its J&K problem or its current Arunachal Pradesh with China, poor relationship with its neighbours like Pakistan, Bangladesh or Nepal ?.

The source of the problem rests with Indira Gandhi and her legacy will live on for another 50 years.

...and don't forget the Emergency, MRTP Act, FERA act, License Raj, cronyism etc.. However, she did have testicular fortitude, unlike the current crop of napunsaks.

It was a total failure of governance and intelligence. What was the government doing when Bhindrewala was sneaking in all that weaponry in the Golden temple complex?

And when they realized what was happening, things had already gotten out of control and there was an imminent need of such an operation. I don't think Indira had any other option left at that point.

But the sikhs who are still crying a river for what happened a quarter of a century ago need to find something more productive to spend their energies on.

There is a wonderful book by Mark Tully on this subject, Operation Bluestar: Indira Gandhi's last battle. Has anyone read it?

Mind you language ‘Iknownothing’.

It’s said” jis tann laage, so tann jane’.

Operation Blue Star is not all about attacking on Golden Temple; it’s about the life of thousands of innocent Sikhs who were mass murdered during that period in Punjab, Delhi and few other places. Why do you think Sikhs are still crying? What do you mean by crying? Imagine one is from a minority, gets targeted, all family members are killed, females are raped by f*** police and one party workers, all property ruined? Have you ever tried to imagine the pain when somebody’s father or mother is burning with a tire? It’s been 25 years and surprisingly none of those is still punished. Come-on, do you call it democracy? Protecting for the rights and asking for justice is something you will call ‘still crying a river’? What kind of human being are you? Which planet do you live on where you don’t understand the meaning of rights and justice?

What do you mean by ‘finding something more productive to spend their energies’? You think the hardworking blood needs any proof to show you what productive is or where the energy is going? Look at the history of 300 years old religion that fought for rights of human being from Mughal period to Indian freedom! Come-on, grow up!

And, if you don’t know anything (as your id is), please don’t use those words again.

I know my language is rude and harsh, even I usually don’t participate in these kinds of debates but the way it was replied, I got mad. I respect every religion and believe in love and peace.

Abusive language edited

Go to the original post and read it again...and then re-read it. The point being discussed is the operation itself, neither the aftermath and nor what led to it.

Any one innocent life lost is too much, leave aside hundreds. What happened back in 84 was sad indeed. But that's not what is being discussed here.

Chadhdi Kalan!

Agree with you 100%. A temple is not a place to stock guns and ammunitions and then cry hoarse when army enters to confiscate it.
