We are expecting a child and would need a nanny for at least 1-3 months after delivery . W are assuming availability of an older Indian women (50 + ) who could come in for 8 hours in the day , do minimal daily chores and tend to the mother / child per need .

How do we search for such a nanny ? Should we look at Indian stores classifieds or free newspapers available ?

What kind of remuneration range are we looking at here ?

What are the basic things we should check while hiring one ?

You may try kijiji and craigslist besides classifieds on Canadian Desi . I hope there might be some advertisements .

I am not sure about the rates though . Maybe other CD s can comment on this .

expect atelast 900-1000$(cash) a month [we paid this]
