What about Mechanical engineers with say, 20 years of experience? Is there any chance of them getting jobs in their field with all their experience and stuff?
Hi Vishal,
I think if your interests are in Chip design, networking, then you are better off moving to the USA...
NORTEL, ALCATEL in Ottawa used to hire students/workers by the hordes during the hey-days of the dot com bubble.
Unf they are not hiring any new recruits..so the job scenario is not good on that front.
You can get a better assesment if you browse any Canadian Job sites..
monster.ca (for example)
As for Mech. engg jobs I have no idea. I can give you two instances. One of my peers finished his PhD in Mech Engg and got a job in Nortel (that was in 2000). He has been able to hold onto his job
Rcently a couple of my juniors graduated from our University in Mech Engg... Well no jobs for them ! ( at least not until now)
If you have been following the forums you will realize that Canadian companies generally do not like to hire ppl unless you have some sort of Canadian degree/work experience... So solving the chicken and egg syndrome you need a Canadian degree !

I agree with vivek we must excahnge notes with each other about consultants to escape frauds.
My consultants name is CANAM CONSULTANTS
Plz tell me if anyone has heard of this firm or has dealings with it.
The consultants fees is coming about to Rs 60,000 /-
this is excluding the other expenses liable to the CHC.
I 'm also doing my IELTS coaching from canam so am paying 3000 + 5000
extra.
Do tell me if the expense is resonable , they have promised post-landing facilities , resume updation etc.
regards,
sumanth nath
Sumanth dada,
Please avoid those consultants..Immigration to canada is as simple as D-I-Y ...
I would suggest you spare that 60K INR and use it for your flight ticket ! and to answer your question, never heard of them !
