Hi!

While browsing at this site I had come across two phrases.

1) "Desi prefer to put Child Tax Benefit Money in RESP".
What is this RESP.?

2) " One should get job thru AGENCY at least for the first 900 hours to be eligibile for Unemployment Insurance"

What is meant by AGENCY. ? Is AGENCY same as what we call PLACEMENT CONSULTANT in India or is it some Canadian Government Organisation.?

Kindly advise me on above.

RESP - Registered Education Saving Plan.

Post Secondary education is very expensive here, so as a good parent you should put some money aside for your kids education. So the RESP.


Agency is a placement agency, non-government, 80 percent desis are working thru agencies

Some agencies work for Big banks and good companies. These agencies can find you a temp-to-perm job.
We should try to register with most of all the potential agencies who do the placements in our field and keep on following up. Depending on profession, they work towards find you a contractual or temp-to-perm job. These agencies can be found on this website.
