Oh yes now that you mention it they do have it in Islamic societies ... one separate ' Mardana section ' and the other 'Janaana section' .... Wondering is you are referring to the same ...

It might have started as a good idea for ladies talks etc. but did not pick up because of lack of privacy ...

As far as generic discussions are concerned where people can help regardless of the gender they generally do and should do ....

My asking for Mens Hair Color and ladies responding helpfully to it and then this thread asking references for women's parlors and I referring one which I know as being popular through other ladies are good examples ....

Lot of Desis and Pakis run hair cutting salons, beauty parlours etc from their basement. They are well trained, but mostly from their home countries and/or from Middle East. They don't have license from here, so mostly operate underground.

They take cash payment only and are quite cheap. No 13% tax for you and Cash payment, hence no income tax for them.

They don't really advertise much, and its mostly word of mouth.

Lot like these in Scarborough, so if you are willing to travel by TTC to Warden, Kennedy etc, you should be fine.

Also lot of Chinese and Vietnamese into this. Try China town, Spadina and Dundas. Language might be a Barrier with them , so be careful.

Equality & privacy are 2 different things - women are different than man by nature - so let's give them some room for that...

you will not enjoy ladies-ladies discussions for very long time unless you are like that one individual guy (biggest supporter of sharialaw-radical islam) who worked with Nawaab's/Arab's and developed taste/nawabi shauk and love participating in female talks.

when a man want go for pee and can't find washroom , he may quickly run in to backallley and do the job - a women will think twice before doing this ...many more things where women react differently than man.

laugh/joke-related to topic -see how society react when a female do same thing as male or otherway around.

so when it comes to respect and equal opportunities in job /society then Yes women must have equal status.
but when it comes to privacy they deserve some privileges...as they were designed by creator slightly different than he/she designed a man.

Please do not protest tomorrow and ask government to find way so man also get pregnant like women(Arnold schwartzneger style-this way man & women will be perfectly equal

All I am trying to say--nothing wrong if our female members get little private room at CD for their female specific discussions.

You seem to be having a very good insight and understanding into women's psyche ... I hope no identity issues here
