I saw 101.9 yesterday.
The lowest I have paid in Canada is 62 c.

I once made a mistake, but I was wrong about it.
Bump.....
With higher gas prices, the car pool tool on this thread is also a good idea:

Seems like there has been a further spike.
Upto 1.20 in some areas.

I once made a mistake, but I was wrong about it.
I got a chain mail for the issue of higher gas prices. I think we should atleast try not to fill-up the gas for Sept 1.
Quote:
IT HAS BEEN CALCULATED THAT IF EVERYONE IN THE UNITED STATES AND CANADA DID NOT PURCHASE A DROP OF GASOLINE FOR ONE DAY AND ALL AT THE SAME TIME, THE OIL COMPANIES WOULD CHOKE ON THEIR STOCKPILES.
AT THE SAME TIME IT WOULD HIT THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY WITH A NET LOSS OF OVER 4.6 BILLION DOLLARS WHICH AFFECTS THE BOTTOM LINES OF THE OIL COMPANIES.
THEREFORE SEPTEMBER 1st HAS BEEN FORMALLY DECLARED "STICK IT UP THEIR BEHIND (ass) " DAY AND THE PEOPLE OF THESE TWO NATIONS SHOULD NOT BUY A SINGLE DROP OF GASOLINE THAT DAY.
THE ONLY WAY THIS CAN BE DONE IS IF YOU FORWARD THIS E-MAIL TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN AND AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN TO GET THE WORD OUT.
WAITING ON THE GOVERNMENT TO STEP IN AND CONTROL THE PRICES IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REDUCTION AND CONTROL IN PRICES THAT THE ARAB NATIONS PROMISED TWO WEEKS AGO?
REMEMBER ONE THING, NOT ONLY IS THE PRICE OF GASOLINE GOING UP BUT AT THE
SAME TIME AIRLINES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES, TRUCKING COMPANIES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES WHICH EFFECTS PRICES ON EVERYTHING THAT IS SHIPPED. THINGS LIKE FOOD, CLOTHING, BUILDING MATERIALS, MEDICAL SUPPLIES ETC. WHO PAYS IN THE END? WE DO!
WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. IF THEY DON'T GET THE MESSAGE AFTER ONE DAY, WE WILL DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN.
SO DO YOUR PART AND SPREAD THE WORD. FORWARD THIS EMAIL TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW. MARK YOUR CALENDARS AND MAKE SEPTEMBER 1ST A DAY THAT THE CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES AND CANADA SAY "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH"

A Proud Indian Canadian
I've seen these chain emails at various points of time over the past 2 years - of course none of these 'initiatives' (if one can call them that) have been even remotely successful. This September 1 shit though, seems to have caught the fancy of a few desis here in Canada, and I already have quite a few of them in my inbox this morning
We in North America (especially the Yanks) have to realize that gas is still one heck of a bargain compared to what the rest of the world pays (with the exception of the Middle East). Besides, demand continues to rise the world over while sources of supply are constant. All that demand chasing limited supply is going to cause higher gas prices, whether we like it or not and isolated instances of 'boycotting gas purchases for a day' aren't about to change that.
The above chain mail does not say reduce the consumption of gas, start using public transport if you can or anything in that direction. It just says do not fill up on Sept 1.
If you fill up before or after Sept 1 to make up for oil consumption on Sept 1, your spending on gas has not gone down at all. How will it affect the bottomline of oil companies? In short, it is not such a good idea as it seems without reducing consumption of gas.

A good tool to confirm gas pricing.
To the wholesale rack rates for Toronto, add about 23.4 cents for tax and approx 7 - 8 cents as retailers margin - will give you the retail price for gas.
The GTA's pricing for today seems to be messed up, must be a supply constraint in the system somewhere - could cool off by tomorrow, but we can nevertheless expect prices of about 110 cents. Those prices will probably persist until some of the refining capacity that Kristina knocked out comes back onstream.
