Please see the link above which states that the tax man is trolling on social networking sites to catch people who are evading taxes.
I am pretty sure that the same system exists in Canada but in another way. They normally send agents to flood some sites with positive information to lure many into Canadian Govt. sponsered immigration. When I brought up the same point a few years ago, i was scorned. Looks like I may not be too far off the mark.

I am a Gents and not a Ladies.
If one is not evading taxes, then why should they be worried?
What I find surprising is that most North Americans and Europeans are paranoid about privacy (not disputed) and then go on to Social networking sites posting all kinds of personal information for everyone to see...
I was and dont think will ever be active on any of the Social networking sites - just not comfortable.
My 2 cents.

So true Hiten. Most of the Organization are also struggling to differentiate between private, confidential and security aspect of it.
Two facts that are often misunderstood:
. Digital information never dies. Never ever.
. You can't have any info on internet and expect it to be "private" and only restricted to certain peoples. - something like, my family history on any site expecting only my friends will view it.
After those SK guys who were fined based on the duck shooting youtube videos, it it clear to me that anything that you say/write on net will and can be used against .. blah blah blah ...
But it's not all that bad. Online "bully" is now considered equally bad as in person. I think we are in that transition phase. We still have to fully understand and accept that internet/online in no fantasy world. We take online banking seriously, don't we?
