hehe. this is a funny thread.
btw, just 10 years experience? Frankly I wouldn't pay CAD$100k to someone with just 10 years experience, and that too foreign experience. Something along 40-45k possibly, because u haven't been trained in the system here. Once u get local qualifications and experience, I don't see why not.

I am surprised at the low levels of salary you guys are working in canada. someone has suggested Canada $ 40K which is very low for a Finance guys frm India....Seems you ppl r very happy working for a low wage...goodluck to u guys.......i m then happy in shining india
Hi
Getting a 40-45K accounting job in canada is not easy..you can expect a start at 32-35K and move to 45k range in a few years(if you have a professioal designation, I would strongly recommend CMA over CGA). Moving beyond a financial analyst to something like a supervisor or controller is difficult as these kind of positions are generally occupied by goras.
In other words, generally people get saturated at around 60K in a kind of a senior financial analyst level positions (I am an excellent example) and there is not much career growth beyond it ...and if you happen to get fired at that point of time, moving back to a similiar position is again not easy..I have a friend who got fired as a senior financial analyst and he is now finding it difficult to get similiar jobs at the level of pay. He is now teaching in some college to make both ends meet.
I am talking about the general situation and there will be exceptions, no doubt. I think Ford canada and kraft have CFOs of Indian origin
Good luck guys..let the numbers win

Though $100k 4 a new immigrant is difficult, however if one is indian ca and us cpa may get starting job of $36k and if passes canadian ca which requires passing of only 2 exams 4 a cpa which are held in oct. one may get a job of $ 60 k. If one starts own practise $60k is gauranteed in first year and one can easily move 2 $100 k after 2-3 years
