Hi Chandresh

It is true that there is no restriction of charging fees for accounting and tax preparation assignements. Generally Professional Bodies in Canada has advised their members to be reasonable in charging their clients and not to undertake price cutting to have healthy professional environment.

It was really unfortunate that youwere to pay 1000 bucks for simple corporate tax return.

I do agree that Corporate return is a complicated one however whenever you need help, you can look upon me. I am here to help everybody

Post here if you have any specific question.

I have been running a software consulting business for some time , I have a propreitership as Inc. is to expensive to maintain and lot of accounting . I do not have employees and but sub- contract a lot of work . Last year I paid cdn 1400 $ for my Taxation fees for filing T1, 1040 ,T2124 and GST .

Does it seem okay ?

Hi CD Members,

Me too is a CA having more than 10 years practicing experience from back home. Here I have been working as Controller for a multi million turnover co. with sizable import/export and looking after whole accounting aspect including accounts, payables, receivable, GL, GST, PST, Payroll, FS, Corporate tax, Insurance, line of credits etc.

Besides in full time job I have several clients whom I have been consulting part time in finalization of accounts, filing GST /PST/Payroll/individual and corporate tax returns. Any one who is willing to charge $300-500 for whole bunch of service is really offering service to community. Go ahead friends and grab that opportunity. Practicing CAs/CGAs/Accounatnts have been charging $500-1000 for corporate tax returns. This seldome includes consultancy on GST/PST/Payroll and FS.

Offering free or discounted services to community or new immigrants, is some thing entirely diff. But pl. do not make accounting profession so cheap. Any CD members requiring any help on these matters can write me or call me at 416-305-0080. I would be more than happy to offer my consultancy/services ABSOLUTELY FREE OF ANY CAHRGE. But, if any member wish to retain me as a consultant than I may not be available so cheap. I do hope my fellow brothern would agrEe my view.

my ca does everything for my three companies, including bookeeping, payroll, gst, t4, the works... i paid $2300 last year for all three companies plus my family's personal returns... but then again, i dont do any preperation at all, she gets all my bank statements directly, all i do is drop off a box of receipts once every three months...

for me its more convinience, and peace of mind... its not rocket science to do the taxers yourself, but in case of an audit, its your ca who is on the hook...
