I want to tell everyone about a funky, cool, hip new restaurant in south Mississauga (that belongs downtown). I'm not sure there's anywhere else in T.O. like this. Great food (especially if you miss Mommy's cooking), excellent modern decor, kind warm service, and good beer! http://www.tikkitikka.com" rel="nofollow">LINK (NW corner of Lakeshore and Southdown)
I get so tired of walking into the newest places expecting to be wowed and having to eat the same old tired food and listen to the same old sitar tinkling in the background. You would think India was really quiet and everyone's house looked like the Taj Mahal judging by the decor / music at most places.
Who'd a thought \"Punjabi Lounge\" was actually a CD title?!?
Check it out and support someone who obviously is proud to be a Canadian Desi!
My question is this: Now I'm on the hunt for other hidden gems. Anyone else know of any other cool Indian restaurants in T.O.?
uff!
What a bad taste of color scheme in the web site!! Dark back ground with dark color font on that and moreover smallest font size.
Samosa: $5.50
Are they offering 6 free plates and 6 free spoons with one samosa in that price?? Hmmm....then, may be not a bad deal

I saw the website too. Food did seem a bit expensive even by American Standards ($1 = $1.32 )
By the way, could someone please give me an idea as to how much "decent" Indian food in Toronto costs?
Thx

Why do you hold lower standards for your own culture? Are the prices any higher than a Kelsey's or Canyon Creek or even Jack Astor's for that matter? This place is NICE... not your typical dive. They've obviously spent a lot of $... to make a place worth going for a special evening. If it was a canadian restaurant with typical decor, the prices would be double.

But this is an open forum and unfortunately, criticism is a natural byproduct of such forums. You can't always expect people to accept things the way You'd like them to. If You cannot agree to disagree, then You are on the wrong webpage. Also, speaking of "Typical", getting all upset, when somebody disagrees with what You are saying is a "Typical" Desi attitude too
