Hmm..haven't had the butter chicken roti at Ghandi's..'cause I'm vegetarian but I'll check out their veggie options..Thanks for the info
The rotis at Hey Good Cooking aren't that big..well even 2 are not enough for 1 person..but their veg burger comes in a roti and it's great..make sure you order the sauce/chutney alongwith it..and their baked enchilada platter is also recommended
Cheers and Happy Eating
I like Sher-a-Punjab in Danforth area. It is the best I have experienced in Toronto yet. I like the owner who is also the host - a nice gracious humble Sikh man.
Curry Twist near Dundas and High Park. Their food is good, service is so so. Another one close by to Curry Twist is North of Bombay. The service is great, food is ok.
Anyone knows a nice South Indian place, preferably closer to Bloor subway line?

I went to TikkiTikka last nite with my family. Not impressed much, and i didn't see any big difference in food.
Also we ordered soda to the guy, then a lady came there, asking for the same order, and we never got the soft drink we ordered, may be they were getting late to go home.
Actually, we skiped dinner in toronto to go to TikkiTikka, may be my expectations were high, i don't know.

The only South Indian place I've found is on Gerrard St. Actually there's plenty there.
There's one I found in the city -- Annapurna. This one's vegetarian and serves a mix of North American - South Indian food. It located close to Dupont St. so it's not too far from the Bloor line..just 1 stop norht of Spadina.
Food's quite tasty and the place is pretty nice too.
Here's the address : 1085 Bathurst
Cheers

Why do you hold lower standards for your own culture? Are the prices any higher than a Kelsey's or Canyon Creek or even Jack Astor's for that matter? This place is NICE... not your typical dive. They've obviously spent a lot of $... to make a place worth going for a special evening. If it was a canadian restaurant with typical decor, the prices would be double.
