Hi Guys
I am Hotel Management Graduate and we ( Me & my husband) are landing in around Feb04. We have set aside CAD 20000 for us to settle in Canada for first 6 months. We are also looking at buying restaurant. Can someone tell us what could be possible cost of purchasing a 15 seater restraunt. We plan to service spicy food i.e. everything will be red hot spicy ..... ( Incentive - water is free ... )
Will bank sponsor for new immigrants?
Does Canada have places serving only spicy food? does concept exist?
Even though Native Canadian dont have spicy food.. do u think they will try?
Are there any legal laws against serving red hot chillies ... He He

I think you have a sense of humar but to be frank it will not work in Canada. You have to be very specific and don't ever think you can do something like that with US$20,000 in a restaurant industry. For new or old the bank looks at the potential of your business so come and see for yourself

Every one has their own personality so do not comment on others. You will know better with time if you have patience.
Hi
U did not understand.
Let me explain. CAD20000 is for us to spend/keep things going for 6M.
Business investment will be extra/seperate . i.e. CAD30000 cash, rest bank to finance. ( I believe total may come around 1.5K)
We are ok with making presentation/business plan/sales and marketing strategy/revenue forecast/menu etc for banks as a proposal.
We only want to know will it work? does spicy food sell ...
Thanks

yes it does... location location location though...
im negotiating to buy an indian resturant myself and give to my parents to run... $150k seems low though for a classy place... im looking at twice that... with around 30% of my own funds... but im in calgary and its to be located in a fairly affluent neighbourhood in a very high traffic area... it may be cheaper to set up elsewhere... one of my colleauges recenly purchased a cafe in downtown calgary that only serves take away coffee, donuts, sandwiches and the like, and it cost him $180k...
Wow CAD 180k for a takeaway !!! Now thats some money ......
Its necassary that u need 2 centrally locate ur eating place 4 brisk business and central location comes costly !!! Irony .
1.How much costs estimate for a takeaway joint @ Downtown Toranto ?How much wud a similar place cost near Brar's Miss'aga ?? Just 2 compare the costs ........... Any inputs ??
2.What has got more potential amongst desis -- N or S Indian food ??
