I have been living in Montreal for 2 years and recently got my Quebec Selection approved. I am putting together the documents for the federal application now.
I had a few questions regarding the police clearance. I have already submitted the Police clearance form for India. In addition, I have lived in Australia for 1.5 years.
1) Do I need to submit Police Clearance from Australia as well?
2) I was checking the Australian Federal Police website, and they need the processing fee to be paid in Australian Dollars only, and 'The cheque must be from an Australian bank or be affiliated with an Australian bank. ' How do I get this done sitting in Montreal?
3) The CIC website says for Australian PCC - ' The police certificate is to be sent to the office processing your application for a Canadian visa. If your visa application is being processed by the Consulate General of Canada in Sydney, Australia, the police certificate is to be sent to the following address: _____ If your application is being processed by another Canadian mission overseas or by an office in Canada, enter the postal address of that office at section 4 of the Australian Federal Police National Police Check (NPC) Application Form. '
So I need to request the PCC to be sent directly to Buffalo? Or is it better to get it to my address first and then send it to Buffalo along with the rest of my application?
Thanks in advance for all your inputs.
Raj
1) Yes.
2) HSBC has branches all over, please contact them here in Montreal : http://www.hsbc.com.au/1/2/ Please talk with them and see how they can help you here in Canada. There may be others too, please explore the web.
3) Some of the reports are not sent to the applicant, to avoid tampering etc., So, they send them directly to the Processing Center, in your case it will be BUFFALO Processing Center. So, please provide them with the address and if there is a FAX number, that also, as required in their application. (Australian P.C.C.) You will have to provide Buffalo Processing Office with with the payment receipt or a copy and the submission number that will be provided to you by the Aust. P.C.C.. after their receipt and acknowledgment. And YES, it takes time.

Hi Raj,
As per our knowledge the Australian Federal Police will not send PCC directly to Canadian Consulate General. They will post it to your residential address and you have to send it to Buffalo office.
We are living in Australia and we had to sent it to processing office in Sydney.
If your previous address was in Victoria. it is better to have PCC from Victorian Police instead of Australian Federal Police, it is not cheap but you can you have your PCC in 10 working days only.
You can contact Victoria Police about payment option, give your credit card number and authorise them to take the payment. It is very safe here in Australia.
I hope this will help you a bit, if you have any other question please contact us, we are happy to help you as we are still in Australia.
Good luck.

Australian Police Clearance Certificate.
Australia : Police Certificate needed? Yes.
How to get one?
Local Requests :
Applicants must provide a full fingerprint and name check.** Certificates can be obtained through the Australian Federal Police (recommended) or the local state police authority. State-issued certificates are acceptable where the certificate is based on a fingerprint and name search of the National Databases. Please note that all applicants who resided or still reside in: Queensland, Victoria or Western Australia, must also submit a Traffic History printout, which may be obtained by contacting the local State Transport/Traffic branch. A visa file number, if available, should be endorsed on the certificate.
The following form is required: Australian Federal Police National Police Check (NPC)+ Application Form. Applicants may obtain the form for the Australian Federal Police check at:
Criminal Records – National Police Check
Australian Federal Police
Locked Bag 8550
Canberra City ACT 2601
Australia
Telephone from Australia: (02) 6202-3333
Telephone from elsewhere: +61 2 6202-3333
Website: <www.afp.gov.au>
Note: When filling out the Australian Federal Police National Police Check (NPC) Application Form, enter Code Number 35 in section 1 (Purpose of NPC).
Non-Resident Requests : Applicants who do not reside in Australia must obtain this certificate through the Australian Federal Police.
This is what I see on the web sites. You can't get better help than from one, who is still there in Australia.
Freddie.
**RCMP and the Local Police will provide you, here in Canada, and facilitate you to get fingerprinted here locally and forward the same to the parties overseas for a fee. This is a paid service. Please contact the nearest unit.
