I recently got the mail from Canadian consulate where they have waived my interview but are asking me to get police certificates from India. I am currently in US for past three years and has no contact in India. In India I have lived in at least 20 cities and my wife has lived in another 10 before marriage. If I start collecting police certificates from all these places (just remember it is India), my great grand children might (just might) get the clearance.
Any recourse or I should basically give up on Canada ?
Thanks for you help.
give the embassy as many as you can. your great-grand children will thank you for the effort. if you cn't provide one within reasonable time, give a good explanation.

Dear Masood,
Thanks for your reply. How should I proceed about getting these clearances? Should I contact the local authorities in all these Indian cities? Is there a central agency from where I can get these?
Will contacting Indian consulate in US help?
90 day is too short a time for getting it from India, how do people do it?
Is it a given that someone like me who has lived in a lot of places in India CANNOT get the clearance in 90 days?
Are you aware of any Indian who has got this stuff by him/her self?
I think I am hitting a wall here.
Thanks a lot
Nasir
You may try the Indian consulate for info.
You can get extension [on the 90 days].
People do it all the time. If you can get it fine, if not let immigration know.
