Hello All
My first post on this forum.
Interested to know if anyone has tried Investing in the Athabasca Oil Sands IPO.
Have a trading ac with Questrade, called them this morning and was told it's already been subscribed. So how does an average guy invest in an ipo?? Any advice will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance
This Oil sands deal has been on the front burner for the last two years or so. The Canadian Government approved the sale of Alberta Oil sands to the Chinese recently and they gobbled up about $2.0 Billion worth for a 20% stake in it. These figures have been changing every day. With the Oil prices trading under the $80 a barrel did not trigger a steep demand that you and me are experiencing. Institutional traders got hold of all or most of them. They don't want to sell to the public for a chump change. That is why we cannot get to see a share certificate. But they will appear some time soon.
Do you remember the One Dollar Broom and pans and the cheap merchandise that we go for, they all add up to billions and when they pile sky high, they bring them back and buy the BIG things that will keep making them a lot of money. That is why they say 'buy local' to boost our local economy. But things are changing in this small GLOBAL VILLAGE.
Some thing to think about.
Freddie.

Unfortunately the sharks will not let us little fish grow.
Sad state of affairs. This is a Socialist country......
These days Athabasca Oil Sands is trading around $12 , is it worth to put money in at this level?

Dear ashedfc
You caught a good point. you are the Guru of these things.
But, what about the present situation about Athabsca. Should it be a buy considering medium term of six months?
