Hi
This person called me last week and told me that there is a device that approved by some sort of Canadian Standard that will save me 50% on my electric bill, he told me that all you got to do is just plug it in.
The device cost $140, however he told me that he will send me a $140 rebate bill that I can use toward Hydro bill.
I said OK, since he told me I only have to pay the money when I go and collect the Device Canada Post. I dont know whether its a good idea or not and received Canada Post mail today to come and pick it up.
Does anyone own of these devices, if it is so great why dont everyone has one?
Please advice
Thank you
Rumi
Beware of the scam
If something actually did this ,everybody would know this ...

We will find a way or we will make one
Please DO NOT go ahead and buy this device. There was an investigation done by Omni TV BC about a month ago. They interviewed few people who bought this and found it was of no use when it came to reduce the bill. It was all in the news a couple of days ago.
It's a scam. Beware!!
I searched the net regarding energy saving devices and most of them are 1/3 of the price this guy asking me to pay. So basically, what he is trying to do is buy some useless gadgets that is claim to be saving energy for dirt cheap and make calls to unsuspected people and sell it for a profit and once you pay you can do nothing since its can be legal bought and sold in Canada.
The sad part is this guy himself a desi and most of the time they only play with their own kind, always wondered why
All such devices, claimed of saving electricity are basically "Capacitors' Bank" of few micro FERED with matching voltage. They are not at all useful in Canadian system, where the voltage has almost no fluctuations and 'Sine' shape is quite good. I have seen these already installed on poles in the power distribution system here. As well, this system is of no use where no coil is used inside the power using appliance/ system; like heaters, Fl. lights and most in home.
Only in developing countries, where (5 and more) HP motors of not so good quality are used in agricultural sector, over loading the transformer well over its capacity; these Capacitor Banks shall be useful. But that needs quite a bigger bank. In any case they cannot save 50 % power, not even in very favourable conditions.
Promise of discount coupon of the cost of this gadget needs to be explored.
