Many people avoid insurance, they simply believe that insurance is a waste of money. Thats why then do not insure their property.

Dont buy a mortgage insurance, its expensive. Buy a life insurance instead its cheaper. House insurance is different thing though.

life insurance , is better bet any time. As your nominee will have choice to spend it whatever way after you are gone, its cheaper only when taken for 10 yrs term, renewal after 10 yrs will be expensive though. But that time since you would reduced your mortgage liability you can go for smaller coverage thus keeping the premium amt well in budget.
For longer terms life insurance is bit expensive but not as expensive as lender's mortgage insurance.

If you are buying a house... Then I suggest you take 2 types of policies.... A term policy that covers tha value of the house.... And a home insurance policy.... This will cover you from any problems like sewage backup or basement flooding etc... Which is not an uncommon occurence....

If you club it with your car insurance it is pretty affordable.... Don't take home insurance from any company which asks too many questions like what kind of wiring, year of roof installation etc..... Since they can back out on these technicalities incase of a payout.....
