Hi,

I recently applied at college for 3 year program in Ontario, Canada for my nephew. He got the admission letter stating that he provides about $50,000 for his stay in Canada and Tuition fee.

He is in Australia as a student on student visa from India for almost one year. Now, can somebody tell me what is the process to get student visa in Australia for coming to Canada?

In his proposed stay in Canada, I am going to provide him the boarding and lodging as he is my real sister`s son.

Please give me some guidance so I can guide him.

Not really complicated.

He needs to submit the "Application for Student Visa" with letter of admission from Canada, Proof of ability to pay the fees ( bank balance, approved loan from a bank etc) and proof funds for his living expenses.

In the covering letter he may say that "Now he prefers Canada to continue his higher education over Australia due to personal reasons including encouragement and support from his uncle.

Do I need to send him a letter of affidavit stating that I am responsible for lodging and boarding for his stay in Canada?

Most of the students themselves know how to go about it. But to brief you and the one who would like to continue his studies here after a short stint in AZ, it will be worth while knowing what standing is he going to get here with all of the time spent at the Universities there.

First and the foremost, what are his basic qualifications and from where? the location. What standing did he get in AZ. How long did he study and when he comes to Canada is he going to follow the same line of study. What standing will he get HERE and (WHERE,) at a University close by ?. Has he got enough monetary support for the Tuition Fees for the duration of his studies. Then you get into the picture and the support that you can provide to him from the location you are situated. This is what he has to show initially to qualify for the entry. He can pay this by installments, as and when it falls due, depending upon the length of the course. If he is starting from scratch, all of this is negligible. Show the full amount he has if he is using it or not.

Will he be happy with this?

NOT knowing any of the above, you have been provided with the basic questions to look for the answers.

NOW, it is left to student to get enrolled into "A" University that is CLOSE to where you are, unless you are ready to move to the location where he is going to, here in Canada or provide him with room and board, does not matter where he is moving to, the question does not get resolved.

After being accepted, see if he gets any credit for his past studies etc., location that will suit him, and the fees that are charged for the duration etc., you both can arrive to the next juncture and decide upon the suitability of the assistance the you are willing to provide.

1) Get the Dollar value required. A ball park figure.
2) Get the suitable Courses and enrollment into a University that is close by.
3) See if they have seats and starting when.
4) Can he do the switching or is there a glitch in the switching. Times not coinciding for his completion at the other end.(AZ) He will have to take a furlough.
5) See if everything falls in place as anticipated.
6) See how you can put it all together for him.

May be you have all of the answers already. See if you can post them here for us to get to know.

Freddie.

I will provide you with the Immigration Formalities here under after your response.
Freddie.
