I fail to understand why highly intelligent actresses like Deepika and Lara need to associate themselves with a movie where they are portrayed as objects with minimal clothing.

Mumbai Maazi Ladki ...
Admittedly my impression of Deepika and Lara is based on their awards/accomplishments/activities to date. Lara has been crowned Miss Universe and it takes a little bit of intelligence to get there....Deepika did not come up that route but she seems to be articulate in the few talk shows I have seen her in.....
Granted that Bollywood churns out the nonsensical comedies routinely but there are a lot of good entertainment films also which are being made....for example Om Shanti Om was also a masala movie but it did not assume that its viewers had the intelligence of a five year old who would find scenes like being repeatedly slapped by a monkey funny.....on some levels it was a brilliant spoof on the ways and workings of Bollywood....I have no issues with a movie like Om Shanti Om. It is an out and out entertainer which does not rely on gags and skin show to bring in the audience.
I do have a problem when the director assumes that his audience has the intelligence of a retard and relies on gags and one of the selling points of the movie is three heroines in bikinis......not that I have a problem with that, if it makes sense to the story fine....but nowadays Bollywood directors work backwards from the situation to the story rather than the other way around resulting in a disjointed, illogical story...but in the final analysis...it was my choice to watch half the movie..and for that I have only myself to blame not the director.
