I am planning on moving to London, Ontario. I am looking to rent either a one bedroom apartment or house close to downtown area. Any suggestion would be welcome. Is there a furnished place where I can rent on monthly basis. Thanks

I would recommend against staying anywhere near Dundas and Richmond. At night it is full of drunks that will harass you and bother you on a consistent basis (i'm speaking from experience !). London's downtown is a shell. It is not a place to live. However, there are nicer places close to downtown but not in downtown itself. There is a community near the art gallery (on Ridout St.) which is peaceful. There are possibly houses for rent there and maybe apartments, though i can't remember.

There are some nice quiet streets in the periphery of downtown, but you have to look for them. Maybe you could drive around and have a look. I think there are some behind Orchestra London (also on Ridout).

The farther east you go, the lower the prices will be. However, there are some nice places close to the downtown area, but it will take time to find them.

Could you please share your views about London, I may be moving to London sooner. Could you please how is this place and what are cost of accommodation and other expenses. Are there any temporary accommodation(Paying Guest) available and what is the composition of desi community there, is there any good web site that has good info about London(i cudnt find much on google).
