Dear Masoodji,
We are applicants from Dubai, applied April 2002, processing started Jun 2002 (as per eclient) and received interview waiver and medical papers in Dec 2003. We have submitted medical on 31st Dec as well as police clearance. There was a spelling error in one my name (not principal applicant) and we have sent request for correction also alongwith, through our consultants.
Its past 4 months now and we have not heard anything from CHC and our consultant doesnt seem to be able to help or advice anything on this. We were planning to land this summer and come back (due to convenience of holidays) and then move sometime next year.
We are now worried if we will be able to do so.....can you help/advice us in any way please....

Your consultant should be able to find out the reason for the hold-up. Sometime, the London CHC needs aggressive follow-up.

Massoodji,
We followed your advice and requested our consultant to send a follow up to the CHC on our case (4 and 1/2 months after medical and not yet received visa papers). Keeping fingers crossed now.
Meanwhile, is it safe to send passport by courier to CHC London from Dubai so that we speed up the process rather than waiting for the visa stamp to arrive at Abu Dhabi Embassy. (Our consultant tells us that waiting time once visa papers arrives, at AbuDhabi is around 45 days and if pp is couriered is around 15 days)

There's always a risk when doing something ahead of CHC. They do sometime take their sweet time and delay people unnecessarily.
I always advise to wait. Up to you.
