Hi,
We applied for Canadian PR in Sept.2001 in Buffalo. I am the principal applicant. My wife and my child are dependents. I paid ROLF for me and my spouse along with the application itself. I and my wife attended the interview in LA in May 2003 and the on line status showed Decision Made in the last week of August 2003. But in the last week of August 2003, I received a letter from LA saying that they are waiting for the background checks. Meanwhile I got my CAIPS notes in Oct 2003.
The CAIPS notes says that
1. Total no. of persons : 1. Nowhere in the CAIPS notes, my wife and my child's names are not there. Is it a problem? Do I have to talk to embassy regarding that?
2. File sent to Background checks in Oct.2002. Does the background check take more than a year?
3.We did the medical in April 2003. Online status shows that medical results have been received. But in the CAIPS notes, medical stage validity is blank. why?
Pl. help me.
Thanks
Rajen
1. you should write to the embassy about that
2. sometimes
3. may be medicals were received after your CAIPS copy. My guess is online status is wrong because it's pretty erratic. I no longer rely on it.
A: When you attended interview, was your wife interviewed too?
B: did your wife & kid get their medicals too? if yes, then CAIPS is not up to date. You should still write to make sure.

Hi,
Thanks for the fast response.
A: Yes. My wife and me attended the interview in LA as required by LA consulate. The officer put a stamp(not a visa) in all the three(my, my wife's and my kid's) passports.
B: We all three did our medicals in April 2003. On line status said that the medicals have been received in the first week of August 2003. The CAIPS notes request was sent in the first week of October 2003 and received in November 2003.
1. My date of birth was entered wrong in the medical paper. I requested them to change it when I attended the interview. But CAIPS notes still says the wrong date of birth. What to be done?
Pl. advice me whether CAIPS notes or online status is wrong. What to be done?
Thanks,
rajen.
writew to the embassy expressing all your concerns [specially your dob]. keep a copy of that letter. send by registered post as proof.
