The so called “intellectuals” of the Delhi University and their “intellectual students” held out demonstration and procession against the banning of the above essay from their syllabus.
While, India was the probably the first country to ban the ‘Satanic Verses” and “Da Vinci Code”, or when Tasleema got necked out from India these “intellectuals” were nowhere to be seen. But when it comes to throwing mud on Hinduism, they are on the forefront.
There are 100s of versions of the Ramayana and Valmiki’s vesion alone is considered to be original. These intellectuals would not know or care anything about the original and probably do not admire Rama’s good qualities like Eka Patni Vrita etc. When they are not literate about the original itself, why should they bother about Ramanuja’s dissertation on different versions of Ramayana.
We do respect the sentiments of the Muslim and Christian communities and expect the same to be shown to that of Hindus also, which is what is totally absent in these pseudo-intellectuals and pseudo-secularists.
In this context this particular university is also the centre for some anti-national intellectuals who often call for separation of Kashmir from India, say Kashmir not integral part of India etc.
