Dear Friends:
Does any one know insurance company for taking insurance for the parents visiting Canada from India (Super Visa).
Getting insurance from India is much cheaper. The only catch is that you have to pay for medical expenses in Canada out of your pocket and then get reimbursement in India aftrer your parents return.
As a requirement for super visa, parents or grand-parents will have to provide a proof that you have private medical insurance valid for a minimum of one year from a Canadian insurance company and that:
> covers health care, hospitalization and repatriation,
> provides a minimum coverage of $100,000, and
> is valid for each entry to Canada and be available for review by a port of
entry officer. visa.
Hmmm.. I was not aware that the requirement was that insurance had to bought from a Canadian company. Jason Kenney has single-handedly increased prospects for the Canadian insurance sector at the same time appeasing the immigrant constituency. Future PM material!!

I have read lots of bad things about Travel Guard. Has anyone experience any positive things?
Thanks ashedfc
Now I am bit reluctant to go with Travel Guard after readling the following reviews. It seems that they are just giving excuse for not paying the legitimate money/coverage.
Any comment on Travel Guard vs TIC or Manulife?
Thanks
