Hi, I m thinking to get Super visa for my parents for 10 years. But there is requirement to buy insurance coverage for 1+ year. Now parents won't be staying for more than 2-3 weeks.

so Question is
1. Is there any insurance company provide insurance letter without I have to pay now? I will pay when they will come and for duration of their stay.

2. If I have to pay for whole year, then generally how much it cost? my parents age are in between 50-59 and no issue with health. They never have any claim in life. Also if they come for 2-3 weeks, do I get refund for all remaining 11 months at the end of year?

3. Any suggestion for insurance in my case?

4. can I cancel insurance & get full refund after 1 month in case my parents decide not to come?

Not that I know of. I have not come across any insurance company giving this kind of a facility.

2. If I have to pay for whole year, then generally how much it cost? my parents age are in between 50-59 and no issue with health. They never have any claim in life. Also if they come for 2-3 weeks, do I get refund for all remaining 11 months at the end of year?

It will cost approximately betwen $2000-$2300 TOTAL for both of them ($500/1000 deductible). I would recommend to buy with a deductible since you are sure of an early departure.

You definitely get refund if THERE IS NO CLAIM reported during the policy period.

3. Any suggestion for insurance in my case?

Not clear with what you are asking. The best suggesstion is to buy with a higher deductible since you will save on premium PLUS get back a much bigger amount.

4. can I cancel insurance & get full refund after 1 month in case my parents decide not to come?

Once the policy is applied, your REFUND before ARRIVAL is only possible if they are denied with the VISA. If they get the VISA and if they dont come, REFUND is not PAID. However you can always extend the date.

Hope this helps,

Regards,

VJ.

This new Super Visa requirement is interesting. For this reason, I currently am applying visa for my parents and I decided to apply the regular Visitors visa.
This new requirement asks for insurance from Canadian companies, which in a way is not bad, because I see the Indian companies quote so less, there is no hope of getting any claim processed from them.

You can get the insurance and cancel before it starts. Usually they charge some $25 Admin fee for that.

I have one gotten partial refund after the visitor went back early. They do this if no claim has been made, after deducting some admin fee.

TIC was the company I got insurance from.

1. Is there any insurance company provide insurance letter without I have to pay now? I will pay when they will come and for duration of their stay.

ANS: Unfortunately it can be done in the previous system of visitor's visa but not with Super visa. You have to have a proof of purchase.

2. If I have to pay for whole year, then generally how much it cost? my parents age are in between 50-59 and no issue with health. They never have any claim in life. Also if they come for 2-3 weeks, do I get refund for all remaining 11 months at the end of year?
ANS: YES- you can get the refund for the remaining 11 months

3. Any suggestion for insurance in my case?

ANS:
The minimum coverage requirement for the Super Visa is $100k.
I have some Quotes for you ;
The more the deductible the more the discounts are:

1)with $0 deductible $3431
2)with $100 deductible $ 3259
3)with $250 deductible $ 3087

4. can I cancel insurance & get full refund after 1 month in case my parents decide not to come?
YES- you can get the Full refund if they decide not to come before the effective date of the policy and AFTER the effective date of the policy minus $25 admin fee.
I saw someone replied you earlier NO YOU CAN NOT GET THE REFUND IN CASE THEY DECIDE NOT TO COME

For regular visitor visa, is it necessary to have insurance for 1 year and from canadian company?
