Maybe very few and far between , but I feel Indian cinema is churning out some good movies and though in lesser numbers , songs also ...

These days I m watching ( in parts ) - Vicky Donor ...looks good so far ...
OK OK I know the thread was about music .... See how difficult it is to coin new melodies and the melody world gets saturated ..... but still some very beautiful songs ... I listen to ( actually watch ) and never get bored are ...

To the Golden music time heard some where that even today on FM the most requested songs on FM are those of Kishore Kumar ....
Jagjit Singh obviously is a timeless classic ... Such depth in voice ..... please listen to songs from another lesser known Hindi movie .. btw shot in Calgary -- 'Tum Bin ' ...

I share your feelings. The last album I bought was "Raanjhana", but didn't felt it was worth the $9.99 spent. Didn't bother to spend money on "Highway" - the music is hummable but certainly not worth spending my money.

This guy is still gaga over ARR, but I think ARR is past his due date. Pritam and SEL doesn't seem to give anything new. And I am not a fan of Coke Studio either - tried to listen to some songs, but found more of a cacophony of instruments rather than music. Hope "Haider" brings some much needed fresh air
These day, all the top 10 on Saavn or Gaana belong to Honey Singh - certainly not my cup of tea
