I have applied for my citizenship in July 2004.... (Canadian permanent resident since Jan 2001). I plan to visit India in Oct-Nov and would like to get married there. Will this effect my citizenship application or processing in any way and do I have to inform the Citizenship & Immi.. authorities as I would be applying for PR for my wife...

citizenship app for you and pr sponsorship for your wife have nothing to do with each other...

Yes, Even CIC recommends you to update them for any kind your status changes, You should keep your file up to date, that will always help you in future, when you will be filing sponsership papers for your wife.
