Hi,
I was wondering if any one knows about the standing of Simon Fraser University.
my brother is planning to apply there for PG diploma in business, or else will settle for credit transfer in their Bachlors in Business Administration..
Does the university have a good standing in Canada and within British Columbia in particular.
Which other universities could be a good choices in the province.
Please advise
Thanks
UBC and SFU are very good ones. He can take admission in any of these

What is considered a good option for Canadian job market.
Is it a post graduate dimploma and then MBA or credit transfer into undergraduate and then do MBA.
Hi hestonuk,
Both the options are ok for the job market but there are pros and cons of both these options.
Post graduate diploma can turn out to be very expensive, for eg. the GDBA (graduate diploma in business admin) at Simon Fraser U charges about 15000 dollars. The good part is that you know how long the program will take, in SFU's case it's a 1 year program.
Now if you go for credit transfer into undergrad programs; you might not get a lot of credit equivalence in Canadian universities. Say you have 60 credits from India, the Canadian University will waive only 40 credits, so you will still have to do another 20 thus extending the undergrad program. But at the same time, undergrad programs are cheaper compared to diploma courses.
If your brother is considering applying to SFU, I would suggest that he should apply to the BBA program, it's a very good program compared to the GDBA ( which is only good for the university to make a lot of cash).
And I am saying this with some authority as I am doing my MBA here at SFU.
Hope that answers your question.
Cheers
Manish.
