Hello. I currently attend Peirce College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA majoring in Information Technology, concentration in business admin. I would like to change my major to Computer (Hardware) Engineering and wish to study in either Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, or other big metro area in Canada full of variety & opportunities.

How do I go about doing the above? Which is reccomended for me to attend? Does anyone here have experience in good places for computer engineering studies. I was looking at Concordia, McGill, University of Toronto, and University of British Columbia so far. I would also like to learn French, so I figured I'd have the best chance in Montreal.

Thanks very much...

PS: It's been a while since I posted here (I think almost a year ago!).

I guess you should talk to the admissions dept. of the universities you have mentioned directly. Also you have to get a student visa for attending the universities there.

Why would you want to move from US to Canada on Student visa? You already have student visa for US.. that\\\\'s the hardest part.. + after you graduate.. your chances of getting a job are so much better in US.. Unless you are in some kind of legal trouble in US.. there\\\\'s just no good reason..
If you were starting off still in your 3rd world country (except for India) .. doesn\\\\'t make any sense for Indian student to waste time/effort on US student visa anymore..
I would probably do different analysis.. but you\\\\'ve already done hardest part.. don\\\\'t throw it away..
More importantly.. right now do whats best for your career.. and that I think would be to try and get best possible internship in US.. Canadian univs and courses can\\\\'t compare 4 months in a good organization.. Real experience counts much more and more importantly skills, knowledge you pick up during internship is invaluable..
Don\\\\'t throw good money after bad .. i.e. assuming you have no issues US immigration/legal wise..

Perhaps you're confused. I'm born in the US (and therefore a US citizen), currently attend Peirce College & taking an IT programme. As an update, I recently (3 January 2006) applied to Concordia University (transferring there) in Montreal to begin their Computer Engineering programme this autumn.
