Hi All,
Just moved to Hamilton from Boston. Love it here so far
Can anyone tell me the overall best place to go for indian groceries and veggies? Especially within a half hour driving distance from Hamilton? Even chinese shops are good for fresh desi veggies too...so any recommendations are truly welcome!
Also, anyone know of a GOOD eyebrow threading salon in the area? One where they actually do the eyebrows desi-style!?
Thanks in advance!!

Hi,
Welcome to Hamilton. Where in Hamilton are you located? There are reasonably ok desi grocery stores in the east (Stoney Creek area) - Uttam on Barton Street, Makkah and Taj(smaller) on Centennial, Punjab grocers on Main Street at Centennial. There are a couple on the mountain - one on Upper James a little north of Fennel and one on Upper Wentworth across from the Limeridge Mall. Try the Vietnamese grocery store located at MacNab and Cannon. They have some good veggies and for fish lovers, even fresh carp fish - which is what they call 'rohu' - and yep! live and swimming in a tank. The only problem is that while you may buy pieces of other other fish like catfish etc., you have to buy the whole fish in the case of 'rohu'.
