But even in those cases where a plant's life is taken, the pain involved is much less than when an animal is slaughtered, because the plant's nervous system is less developed. Clearly there is a vast difference between pulling a carrot out of the ground and killing a lamb. But still, one must undoubtedly suffer karmic reactions even for killing plants.

Looking at the discussion forum right now, and I can see 3 active topics relating to vegetarianism.
1. (This thread) Is Killing vegetable wrong (sic)
2. Being Vegetarian
3. Beyond vegetarianism
All of the above (and quite a few others) have been initiated by Maxim.
Maxim, do we need separate threads to discuss the same issue? Moderators, appreciate your input.....
Another thought, I don't find non-vegetarians going around trying to propogate their philosophy - why do vegetarians feel the need to do this?

More of less pain is there!! Cutting a tree would be more brudal then slaugtering an animal. Because animal can resist or can run to save its life but what a tree will do?
And why u consider milk in vege? does it grow on the tree??
U will say v r not killing animal for their milk but still its not our right to take out milk which is for baby animal.
mangos, apple and other fruits, automatc falling from tree when ready
you d,nt need to kill a tree and when crops are ready, the plants r autm dying
for deatails, if you missed topic, being veg

1... Milk is veg because you are not harming or killing a cow when taking milk
2 ,,some cows producing 10,,20,,40 or more litre of milk in day, which baby animal c,nt drink
thats why if you take some milk from cow is not a sin
please before making critic ,i recomond you to read complete topic
than i hope there will be no confusion"

U see , I had posted my views on the original thread but now I find that these might have been a more appropriate place or in other words I shd ve place those views here as well.
In order 2 avoid duplicate and redundancy I somehow suggest we stick 2 the original thread ........... they r all similar and otherwise 2 threads are bound 2 b left out ...........
