I do agree that at present job market is too slow. However I will recomment everybody to have positive attitude and prepare a strategy short term and long term to handle the issue.
Few Tips
1. Prepare your life goal
2. Prepare your strategies
3. Prepare your goals - short term and long term
4. Do investivation and study of the market - job market, recruiting agencies, top employers, salary guide, locational factors,
4. prepare action Plan
5. Start searching for job opportunities
6. Research on prospective employers
7. Make suitable resume
8. Post resume
9. Preliminary follow up - creation of interest in your profile
10. Interviewing skills
11. Follow up after interview
12. Thanks letter to all companies who called you for any interview
13. Donot lose heart
14. Stay focused on your field (for short term look for part time jobs in your fied, do not mind doing voluntarywork in your industry that helps in networking
15. increase yournetworking within and outside your community - good to be in same industry but diversify your friends in all fields
16. Improve your presentation, communication and behavioural skills
17. Upgrade your education - technical

Skills, Aptitude and Education are three factors. I am of the opinion that skills and aptitude is driving force in canada to get job. Education is secondary at the moment because of high supply and low demand of jobs.

find out your strengths, skills that are marketable at the moment. Try to survey what is saleable today. Here skills reguired change everyday and night. So do not panic just keep yourself uptodate and fight.

Indians are great fighters. Prove it to these Canadians. Tell them India is Great.

We Indians have done it at our workplace. Any person looking for finance and accounting jobs may forward his resume to me. I will try what I can do for them

all this is good for consolation
if you go to canada, carry lot of money and get some education and start entry level office job.
if you don't have money, just go to canada and work in factory, do overtime, buy a house, car and forget India

O Canada....
