Dear
All members,

Recently I have submit my files for PR Visa New delhi and it will take another 4 years. I request you to all the members pl. discuss WHICH TYPES OF SKILLS WE SHOULD DEVELOP DURING PROCESSING TIME so we can get prepare ourselves. When we land we may be full of confidence and settle there with less difficulty.

I did B.A, and my husband has done M.Com. Me and my husband both are physically not so much strong (Single body) so we can not do labor jobs more then one year there. So if we can prepare ours selves little bit, we can get some good job.

Can any body guide us which types of skills we should develop here in INDIA?
As we have heard that electriation, plumber and velders are getting good salary there. Can we think for that? so In our initial days we can live better.

regards

Use this time to develop multiple skills.....you never know what will click.
Maybe pickup some IT courses and get some certifications.... pickup courses which will not get outdated in 4 years ....( tho it is hard to tell what will be the in thing in the years to come)

In any case learning new skills never goes waste and makes one a better person.

How come electrician, plumber and welding are not labour jobs? If you are not physically strong how can you do these jobs?

Raj,
They are not and they pay well too, if you can get in.
Arent they called "trade" jobs.
For example if you are a Maintenance technician in a factory/warehouse, you basically go around looking for problems (mostly not on foot). It doesnt involve loading / unloading trailers or other relatively more physically demanding jobs.

But if you want those jobs you have to get some certifications from Canada before you can apply.
the only exerting part would be 12-hr shifts. But you would get a day off every now and then.

I once made a mistake, but I was wrong about it.

Sorry, they are not labour jobs but the job involves manual labour. Yes they are trade jobs but these still require you to be physically strong(involve manual labour). Money is good as compared to general labour jobs and it takes roughly 3-4 years in Canada for apprenticeship.
Maintainance electrician may be easy as compared to the electrician who first installs those conduit pipes in industries and has to pull the wires all day. I think plumber and welder would also be expected to do some heavy lifting of metal parts and pipes occasionally.

Working in assembly line is also labour job but is physically not as demanding as loading/unloading trailers.

How can one say that one does not want to do any job that involves manual labour but is ready to explore the career as electrician, plumber or welder?

How about utilizing this time to prepare for certification exams in your own feild....then when you come here you will be fully prepared for the exams ....since your husband has an M.Com ...he could prepare CGA, CA exams.

Skilled trades pay very well but if at all you have to get into skilled trade keep it as a last option.
