PR card delay

Dear Desis,
I landed on 11/01/2005 Toronto with my family.Left Toronto on 03/02/2005 to Riyadh.I gave my friend's address for PR card mailing.Till now no news on PR card.I got my SIN card while I was in Toronto on 27/01/2005. I am worried now.My family plans to enter canada in May 2005 for permenant settling.
Should I contact CIC to know about the status.The PR card call centre are replying through answering system only.No operator is coming on line.
I was told that I have to get travel papers to enter canada again if there is no PR card.What is the procedure and how long it takes to get the travel papers.
Please advice.

If you haven't got the cards within 4 weeks of landing, you should call them. Call the Call Center between 8:30 AM EST and 3:30 PM EST. After navigating the difficult menus, I managed to talk to a live operator a couple of times. Best of luck.

Dear Desis,
Thank you for your reply.I recieved a message from my friend that PR card arrived by mail for all the four of us yesterday.He will be mailing it by courier to me.That was a relief.
