Friends, I had got a offer to work in saudi arabia with saudi aramco. I want to ask my friends in Saudui, How safe is it to work in Saudi for an indian?. I will be working on Oil Rigs in Interior in southern part of Saudi Arabia. Any input is welcome.

It is pretty safe to work there for you as long as you are not white.....sorry I dont mean any discrimination here.
And dont forget to negotiate a great compensation package before you accept the offer! They pay well!

thanks for reply. Yes, I am negotiating with them for salary package. You mean to say there should not be any problem for an Indian (Non-Muslim) . I had worked in Oman, which is very good for all indians.Most probabaly, i will be doing rotation there as my family will be based here & i will be on 28 days on/off pattern.

there will be some partiality with non muslim but no need to worry .take care to follow their rules strickly . saudia is good country good saving potentials [ i.e. no chance to spend money except eating he he he he he ]

If they had a problem, they wouldnt hire you inthe first place.
I am guessing many of your new co workers will be foreigners (muslims and no muslims incl westerners).
So no need to worry.

There is no problem for a non muslim to work in Saudi Arabia.
I am a non muslim working here for the past twelve years.You have to folow the law strictly.No alcohol no theatres.Women will be wearing abaya when they go out.But you can have you own friends circle have get togethers and parties.Saving potential is very high as no room for expenses except eating.No tax.
You will see better roads than canada.Huge and nice shopping complexes chain of american fast food restaurants.The quality of the apartments will be good.You will see compound walls of villas raised to 3 meters and above for privacy.You are well respected if you move with your family.
Cost of living is cheap compared to Canada.
negotiate well to get maximum from your employer.
It will be as good as oman but men and women are not allowed to mingle.
