What is the job scenario for bankers in Toronto esp in operations and marketing?Are there any bankers around?

you will find lot of persons who are in canada who took VRS from indian banks & migrated to canada. But , i found most of them working in different fields ( not Banks). You may be lucky.

This is interesting. I never thought abt this. I was under the impression that they would be living happily thereafter (after getting VRS). In fact there are private banks in India that could employ these experienced folks. Too bad they have to emigrate at that age (45+)

I know a gentleman (age 52) personally who had 24 years experience working in a bank in India. He was Branch Manager for about 12 years. When he came here about 3 1/2 years ago, he applied to different banks for a job but unfortunately he could not get one. One of the banks, I think, TD, offered him Teller job that too Part Time and that was like 4 days a week @ $9.50 an hour.
Finally he took up a security job. Now he is working with Group 4 as security guard, permanent full time @ 15.50 an hour. He has been working with them for last 2 years and he is happy.
His daughter will be finishing university next year and his son got admission into Engineering this year.
Overall he is quite happy!!
