Submitted sposal sponsorship appliacation in mIssissauga in mid jan 2005. We couldn't submit the police clearnce at that time. The CPC forwarded the app to delhi and delhi embassy got back to us in mid feb asking for the PCC and passport which we alreay sent in the first week of march. does anyone know, if we sent the PCC/passport at a later stage (like we did), would it create significant delays in processing? (Medical is already done and sent -i guess no issues there)

Secondly - how long do they keep the passport?I have faxed a query to the embassy but no reply so far.

The whole process can take anywhere between 2 to 6 months.

CHC Delhi took 3 after my wife sent her passport. After 3 months she went to CHC to findout , she was not much entertained but she insisted and complained that CHC had taken her passport for 3 months with no response .... she go a call the next day that her passport is being mailed.

On the flip side, my friend who files papers for his wife on the same day as i did....got the visa from CHC delhi within 3 weeks of sending the passport.

Just have patience and wait it should not take very long , they do not really respond to queries before the 3 month time period is completed.
