i feel this cricket match idea is fantasctic..count me as well( if u have a slot in ur team)...its been 2 years since i last held a bat ,but still i think i'll be able to play,I used to play for Delhi( state team) as a opening batsman but my parents wanted me to take up engg so i had to back off + too much politics shattered me....neways its an old story now..so i request u guys if u have a slot in ur team am up for the grabs..

Everyone wants to play. Judging from the posts and the interest shown, it appears that the number of "players" is going to far exceed the number that can be in a team.
If that happens, what will be the strategy and criteria applied to "choose" the 12 or 22 from all the "players"?? And more important, who will do the "selection"??
That, I am sure, will be more interesting and fun to watch than the match itself!!!

You are a cynic, no doubt
However, just for your info, there are many alternatives - we could have more than two teams and have a round robin. If there are enough players for two full regular teams, we can have a regular limited overs match. And if the ratios are not working out, we can have 7 a side or 8 a side etc. No one will be 'Not chosen' - everyone will play (since everyone will pay!!!

I would still like to hear from nishiton1 that what is an AUSTRALIAN FORMAT of cricket? Bhai hum ko bat sidha pakadna hai ki ulta yeh to batao? 
We can have,
Option - 1
No of players - 22
No of teams - 2
One match of 12/14/16 overs
Option - 2
No of players - 24
No of teams - 4 (A,B,C,D, or we can name them 
)
A plays with C and B plays with D (each team will play 12 overs)
Winners to clash for FINAL
Option - 3
No of players - 18
No of teams - 3 (A, B, C)
A plays with B, B Plays with C and A plays with C)
2 points for the winner
First two teams clash or the FINAL
One match of 12/14/16 overs
We can still have many more viewsa and suggestions rolling in.

Dont worry abt the format guys it will be what we want and where we are not able to decide then i will throw a idea from the australian format.
As VJ got it all depends on the no of players.
