Hello Everyone,

First of all let me clarify, I am a gujju myself.

Wanted to enlarge the scope of discussion rather than patting oneself on the back for being a gujju.

Regionalism is what is killing India today. Should we not proudly say we are Indians first. Not that the above posts suggest otherwise , however in just describing ouselves as Gujjus or Bengali or Punjabi, we miss the tree for the woods and being Indian is taken for Granted.

Just a thought, other CD's may please comment.

Thanks,

Rajiv

The printer was surprised by Kanjibhai's knowledge and asked him if Kanjibhai knew what it meant.

Kanjibhai started to think and after much thought he replied :

"Vait! I remember! I remember! RSVP!! It means "Remember, Send Vedding Present!"

The Gujju and the Arab

1 2 3 4 5 (14 votes) An (Bahraini) Arab was admitted in the Lilavati Hospital at Mumbai for a heart transplant, but prior to the surgery the doctors needed to store his blood in case need arises.

As the gentleman had a rare type of blood, it couldn’t be found locally. So the call went out to a number of countries. Finally a Gujarati was located who had a similar type of blood.

The Gujarati willingly donated his blood for the Arab. After the surgery, the Arab sent the Gujarati as appreciation for giving his blood, a new Hummer, diamonds, lapiz lazuri jewellery, and a million US dollars.

Once again the Arab had to go through a corrective surgery. His doctor telephoned the Gujarati who was more than happy to donate his blood again.

After the second surgery, the Arab sent the Gujarati a thank you card and a jar of Almond halwa sweets. The Gujarati was shocked to see that the Arab this time did not reciprocate the Gujarati’s kind gesture as he had anticipated.

He phoned the Arab and asked him why he had expressed his appreciation in not so generous manner.

The Arab replied “Bapu…..now I have Gujju blood in my veins!”

Both are new jokes to me and very funny !

I am also a Gujju & I totally agree with your post. When we talk about discriminatory & racialism against brown skin when we come abroad, we should also look into our own native when it comes to regionalism.

This post or thread doesn't have any kind of negative remarks, neither does it create any regionalism. We are Indians first.... & I am proud of it.

Loser,

Good jokes. Let me add one.....

==================

Teacher to the class "I'll give $20 to the child who can tell me who was the most respected man, whom people consider God, who ever lived."

An Irish boy put his hand up and said, " It was St. Patrick ."

The teacher said, "Sorry Alan, that's not correct."

Then a Scottish boy put his hand up and said, " It was St. Andrew ."

The teacher replied, "I'm sorry, Hamish, that's not right either.

Finally, a Gujarati boy raised his hand and said, " It was Jesus Christ ."

The teacher said, "That's absolutely right, Jayant, come up here and I'll give you the $20."

As the teacher was giving Jayant his money,

she said, "You know Jayant, since you are Gujarati, I was very surprised you said Jesus Christ."

Jayant replied, "Yes, in my heart I knew it was Lord Krishna, but business is business!"

When did fluency or knowledge of English language became a criterion for beauty??

Hmm. So Halle Barry, Thandie Newton or Jada Pinkett-Smith definitely do not qualify as a film star.

Jeez TK. Why are you so much conscious of your skin colour?

Also Landmarks such as Ghandi Ashram, Revolving restaurant, Teen Darwaza, Sidi Syed Mosque exist there.

You better brush up your history skills. It is "GANDHI"

Renowned author late Chandrakant Bakshi has written a book called "Mahajati Gujarati" in which he has pointed out notable communities and their members who contributed towards the development of Gujarat.

And Gujarati's are not limited to being a business community or frugal with their money, as those stereotypical jokes indicate.
