USACAN:
I was born and raised in Winnipeg, I havent had the chance recently to post here. There are a few thousand people of Indian origin in Winnipeg. They are spread pretty evenly across the city.
Winnipeg can be a nice place to live if you are looking at: small town charm, quiet place to raise a family. It does have extreme weather and lots of mosquitoes, but on the flipside, great restaurants, a good nightlife and doesnt have all the problems of the bigger cities such as lack of affordable housing.
Winnipeg is known as the murder capitol of Canada however to my knowledge most murders have occured between people who know each other. There are quite a few immigrants that live there, and there is a good multicultural feel to the city.
I enjoyed it there, even though its quiet because you can easily become familiar with the city, and there are beautiful festivals out there. Every year in August there is \"folklorama\" a two week period where people of different communities set up pavilians and offer you a chance to experience dance, food and cultural aspects of that community.
I dont know about the situation for immigrants at present, because I left the city unfortunately 4 years ago (got married). I do know that I have not had trouble finding work there.. whether 'part time' retail work or later in my profession.
Just FYI.

Reason I was stuck in post 21 was that nobody replied to my message and looks like no Indians live in Winnipeg. That being said, I care less what race of people live in what city as long as I can find a job for me and people treat me with respect.

Morning Rain: Lower Mainland is actually the place to be....sprawling with indian community and voted as one of the best cities to live in. Don't really know about winniepeg. Have not seen many people moving there. Anyway, USACAN is not interested in winniepeg anymore as he posted to my reply.

I would prefer Canadian PR over US GC as I always wanted to live in Canada even though everybody talks about not being able to find a good job and no respect for degree and work experience etc. For now, I have decided to hang out here in the US and wait for Canadian PR.
Thanks

USACAN: Go for GC, in my opinion, coz that is very valuable asset to have in north america, you can go for canadian pr after that, canadian immigration is expected to remain open indefinitely, rather they keep on increasing the cap every year, its not that they need more immigrants, its that they need more money being pumped into their economy by immigration.....so u can wait and pump little money of yours into canadian economy but secure your GC first.....that is my opinion anyways

The Population of Manitoba and Sakatchewan is decreasing due to the migration of it's residents to other parts of Canada and USA for job prospects.

There are 15000 indian families in the small population of Winnipeg.
MPNP is something, people look forward to get in Canada sooner, as the fastest way possible.
Regards.
