Prima facie it is his timeline under discussion in this thread.
However threads in this section are expected to be replied by Mr. Massood.
nir. If you need to go to US then why dont you just send an email/mail to Delhi consulate asking back for your passport immediately. I guess you have the US visa stamped on your passport and you can tell Canadian consulate, new delhi that you need to go to US on some urgent assignment.
I had been through the same situation you are facing as I had to travel when my passport was at Delhi. I wrote a letter to Delhi Consulate and got my passport back in a month (without PR). I finished my assignment and then sent back the passport to Consulate again. In all this it will happen that it will get delayed a lot, you have to be patient.
BTW after coming to Canada are you just planning to take a PR and go to US or seriously interested in staying permanently?
If interested in working then just dont wait for the passport , demand back your passport from Canadian consulate, Delhi. And if its the case that you want to be here then wait n watch coz. nowadays I have heard from couple of friends that they are taking long to send back the passport after medical.
Either inform your company n wait for your passport OR request it back as i mentioned before, they send it back in 4 weeks if u do so.
Hi Friend,
Ya here is my timelines.

Medical Received May 2005

Waiting for passports till then.
Pls tell me if anyother information required.

Hi Friend,
Ya, infact my plannings are mostly to settle at USA, but i also want to continue Canada PR.
I have heard from 2 of my friends that they went to Delhi personally and they got passport
on next day. So mostly I will also visit CIC, Delhi once requesting for passport.
But ya, you have really given me true advices.
I think i will send just a good inquiry mail, then visit CIC, Delhi once
and then will wait until I get passport
because otherwise again it will take a long process to stamp on passport.
And also the thing is that it is almost 4 months passed after I completed Medical.
So anyhow i will have to again give them passport back at earliest. So I think I will have to wait,
no other options.
Pls suggest me if I am wrong.
Thanks really,
Nir
My processing started on April 2000 and completed medical on 1 june 2005 and submitted passports. I inquired to CHC, New Delhi through email.
I got the following response:
Dear Sir,
This refers to your recent enquiry regarding the issuance of a skilled worker permanent resident visa.
Canada has a carefully managed and controlled immigration program that is committed to maintaining a balance of 60% economic immigrants and 40% non-economic immigrants, including family class, refugees, and those in need of protection.
The Minister of Citizenship and Immigration’s April 2005 announcement regarding measures to speed up the processing of applications for parents and grandparents as members of the family class has compelled our office to devote resources to this effort. As a result, delays may be ensued in the issuance of other types of permanent resident visas.
We currently anticipate issuing visas in the Skilled Worker class within the first three months of 2006 for cases where the medical examination results will expire after February 2006.
We continue to make every effort to render our processing as efficient as possible with the resources available and according to priorities established by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and hope that this responds to your enquiry.
Yours truly,
For Counsellor (Immigration)
